Breast Navigator Program
The Breast Navigator Program is designed to ensure all breast cancer patients at the Siteman Cancer Center receive the best possible services and care, especially those who may not have the kind of strong family or community support system that can make cancer treatment easier. Navigators provide support as well as practical help with problems that can arise during the day-to-day struggle with breast cancer.
Siteman's breast cancer patient navigator can help patients:
Schedule appointments
Connect with social workers and support services such as nutrition counseling and physical therapy
Find financial resources, transportation and child-care assistance, as needed
Locate other services that may help them and their families deal with the stress of a cancer diagnosis
With the help of a navigator, patients are better able to keep their appointments, follow their treatment regimen and receive the support they need.
The Breast Navigator Program is made possible through a grant from the St. Louis affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization. For more information, contact Vickie Knighten at 314-362-3195 or vknighte@wustl.edu.
