June 3, 2011 – Homeowners can now help in the fight against cancer by raising a new breast cancer awareness flag. Magnet Works, a provider of outdoor décor accessories based in St. Louis since 1989, is now selling decorative flags featuring a limited-edition pink ribbon design to raise money for cancer treatment, prevention and education at the Siteman Cancer Center.

“Because breast cancer has affected so many near and dear to us here at Magnet Works, this was something we felt was important to do,” says company co-founder Sue Todd.

Available now, Magnet Works’ inspiring Hope yard flag was designed by the company’s creative director, breast cancer survivor Cathy Gigliotti.

“In creating the design, I drew upon my own feelings and experiences as a cancer patient and survivor,” Gigliotti says. The flag features a pink breast cancer awareness ribbon with the words “strength,” “hope” and “courage” incorporated throughout. “As a five-year survivor, I am thrilled to help others show they care while helping raise money for the cause.”

Net profits from the sale of flags featuring the Hope design will be donated to Siteman to support breast health outreach programs for underserved women, including mammography and other lifesaving diagnostic services.

According to Magnet Works co-founder Curt Todd, “Siteman’s mission of cancer prevention, treatment and education is very close to our hearts. We’re proud to donate to such a well-respected institution.”

The Hope yard flags have a manufacturer-suggested retail price of $10.99 for garden-size flags and $21.99 for standard-size flags. They are machine washable, iron-safe and feature Magnet Works’ exclusive SolarSilk fabric for durable construction and superior fade and mildew resistance.

For more information about purchasing a flag, contact Magnet Works at 800-886-3121 or visit the company’s website at www.magnetworks.com to view information about the Hope flags or locate a store that sells Magnet Works flags.

A limited number of flags also are available at the Barnard Health and Cancer Information Center in the lobby of the Center for Advanced Medicine on Siteman's main campus, 4921 Parkview Place, St. Louis, MO 63110.
