Longnecker Named Director of Oncology Patient Services

In December, Christina Longnecker was named director of oncology patient care services at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

In her new role, Longnecker will be responsible for oncology inpatient units 3200, 5900, 6900, 7900 and 17300 as well as outpatient clinical areas, including the cancer care clinic, medical oncology, bone marrow transplant and women's infusion center in the Center for Advanced Medicine.

Longnecker has a served in management roles at Barnes-Jewish Hospital stemming back to 2007. She formerly served as clinical program manager of liver, kidney and pancreas transplantation. She was also the clinical nurse manager of inpatient unit 5900, which serves bone marrow transplant patients. 

Trish Lollo, vice president of cancer services, says Longnecker has a good track record of engaging team members, improving the patient experience and enhancing the quality of care for cancer patients.

Before joining Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Longnecker was director of clinical operations at Advanced ICU Care in St. Louis. She received a bachelor's degree in nursing from Southern Illinois University, a law degree from Saint Louis University and a master's degree in business administration from Walden University.
