Siteman Cancer Center Breast Cancer Research Development and Career Awards
Applicants are invited to apply for research development funds for translational research projects related to breast cancer research. The development of the proposal should lead to additional breast cancer research or possible inclusion in a large multi-project grant proposal such as a SPORE application for NCI funding. Applicants are not required to be members of the Cancer Center, but must have a Siteman Cancer Center member on their research team.
Now accepting applications for the 2014 cycle:
The SCC Breast Cancer Program would like to encourage the development of innovative "team science" breast cancer projects. This mechanism will fund two projects (one Research Development Award and one Career Development Award) involving transdisciplinary research endeavors between two medical school departments, or between medical school members and departments/schools on the main campus, for example, Schools of Engineering, Social Work, Law, or Arts & Sciences (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, etc.). Preference will be given to interschool partnerships using creative and novel approaches that have the promise of transforming cancer prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of breast cancer.
