Description:
Patients with this condition usually receive radiation therapy in daily treatment sessions. The purpose of this research study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of hypofractionated radiation therapy.
Hypofractionated radiation therapy uses the same total radiation dose, but the dose is divided into fewer treatments that are given less than once a day. This study will use radiation therapy with 5 fractions (or
treatments) of radiation to treat prostate cancer with the Calypso 4D Localization System (Calypso). A number of recent studies have used 5 radiation fractions to treat prostate cancer over 2-3 weeks as compared to the typical treatment which would involve 40-42 smaller radiation fractions over 8-9
weeks.
