Description:
The purpose of this research study is to find out what effects, good and/or bad, avoiding the hippocampus has on memory and thinking in participants receiving whole-brain radiotherapy. The hippocampus is a brain structure that is important for memory. Doctors hope that avoiding the hippocampus will be effective in preventing memory loss and deterioration of thinking ability after whole-brain radiotherapy, although there is no proof of this yet.
