Description:
You are being asked to take part in this study because you have a confirmed diagnosis of ovarian, primary peritoneal, or fallopian tube cancer, you have not been previously been treated for this cancer, you are age 70 or older, and you and your physician have decided that either single-agent carboplatin OR the combination of carboplatin plus paclitaxel with an injection of pegfilgrastim is the best treatment for you at this time. Both of these chemotherapy regimens are considered standard treatments for older women with ovarian and related cancers. Younger patients typically receive more aggressive treatment, and some older patients can tolerate more aggressive treatment. It is possible there are studies of more aggressive treatments available to you.
