Joshua Rubin, MD, PhD

660 S. Euclid Ave.
Campus Box 8208
St. Louis, MO 63110

Primary Academic Title:
Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology and Oncology, Washington University School of Medicine
Research Interest:
Normal neuronal precursor cell proliferation, survival and migration in order to identify pathways that are likely to contribute to the genetics of pediatric brain tumors. We described a critical role for the chemokine receptor CSCR4 in normal cerebellar development and malignant brain tumor growth. This requirement creates a unique vulnerability in cancer growth to CXCR4 blockade, and we hope to exploit this in novel treatments for pediatric and adult patients with brain tumors.
