Primary Academic Title:
Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology, Washington University School of Medicine
Research Interest:
Telomere-associated proteins TRF2 and POT1 are key components of the human telomeric protein complex, which maintains telomere length and stabilizes the telomeres by protecting the ss-overhangs from degradation. There is growing evidence for a link between cancer radioresponsiveness, DNA repair and telomere maintenance. Our ongoing projects focus on investigating the roles of TRF2 and POT1 in cellular response to ionizing radiation. We also are interested in understanding the tumor suppressor function of BRCA1.
