Patient and Family Advisory Council
In 2008, the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital established a patient and family advisory council to enhance the patient and family experience and give these groups a voice in the care provided at the center.
The council, which meets monthly, consists of 18 patient and family members and nine staff liaisons who work together to discuss issues important to patients and families. Council members are diverse in terms of age, gender and cultural background. Together, they listen, communicate, plan and develop services that shape the delivery of cancer care.
To learn more about becoming a patient or family member of the council, call 636-916-9971. Patient members must be undergoing treatment or have previously received treatement at Siteman. A minimum of a one-year term is required.
