Campus Box 8118
St. Louis, MO 63110

Primary Academic Title:
Conan Professor of Laboratory and Genomic Medicine and chief, Division of Laboratory and Genomic Medicine, Department of Pathology and Immunology, Washington University School of Medicine
Research Interest:
Our interest is in understanding the molecular events involved in lymphocyte development and lineage commitment. Specifically, we are interested in the regulation of lymphocyte antigen receptor gene assembly in the context of lymphocyte development. This process proceeds through DNA double strand break intermediates that are normally resolved as complete antigen receptor genes. However, abnormal resolution of these DNA double strand breaks can lead to chromosomal translocations resulting in lymphoid malignancies.
